1. Grade School Intrams in O.B.Montessori, Greenhills
I was standing in attention, not ready for the ball. I can't remember if my feet were together or slightly apart - obviously the wrong stance for volleyball. The ball hit my face and I fell into a muddy puddle. The…en...nope that's not the end of that.
2. College PE Volleyball Class
I don't know if I was trying to overcome my fear of volleyball but I did give the sport another chance. I saw my crush on the other side of the court. I only saw him at church so it was my big chance to say hi to him. When the ball rolled to the other side of the court where his bench was, I ran over...to the net. Some say "keep your eye on the ball" but I forgot about the saying "look where you're going" Hahaha. Funny, right? No. because I hit the net with my face, and I had a checkered mark on my right eye. TRUE STORY. I mean stories, as if one wasn't enough.
La Salle was visibly taller. I loved the spin move one girl was making every time she would volley a strong spike. Do they measure the speed of those hits?! They look intensely fast and hard.
I felt victorious after being down two sets. I screamed by myself when all was quiet. I didn't lose hope as I watched Coach "Thai's" victory dance which happened with every point.
One happy dance led to another and before I knew it, we were singing "Mary, for you..." the Ateneo hymn.
Thank you to my cousin, Ken, for making me as excited as he is about volleyball. Off to game 3. Who has tickets?
PS I met the men's volleyball team after the game. They were the sweetest. I keep telling everyone that they’re my squad because they hung out in my Centerstage Family KTV MOA branch. They were so cute to play volleyball with the Child Haus kids using a balloon. Yay! Click here for more photos! |
